I recently finished the full leather binding of an 8 volume set of Burke’s Works. It was a very big job and there were many challenges involved, not least of which was finding 8 large matching sheets of leather and dyeing them to exactly the same shade of brown. The client was very precise about colours and gilding patterns. The photos show some of the stages from disbound text blocks to the finished set sitting on a table in my office waiting to be examined by the client.
