Slightly outside my normal work: a leather case for the new Downton Abbey film. I was contacted by Whetton & Grosch, a brilliant firm of prop-makers, and asked to make a leather casing, with elaborate gold decoration, to house a miniature portrait. I was expecting it to be visible in the background for a second for two but I just watched the official Downton Abbey trailer and it turns out to be central to the entire plot. These are stills from the trailer. I can now die a happy man!
